Theravada Buddhism

This page is under development.

Theravada Buddhism, also known as the "Teaching of the Elders", is one of the oldest forms of Buddhism and is practiced mainly in countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. It emphasizes the original teachings of the Buddha and the importance of meditation, ethical conduct, and wisdom.

Theravada culture is deeply intertwined with the daily lives of its followers, influencing art, architecture, festivals, and social customs. Temples serve as community centers, and traditional ceremonies mark important life events. The monastic community (Sangha) plays a central role in preserving and transmitting the teachings.
